Role
Morán came over from the Twins in December 2024 for Mickey Gasper, missed the first half of 2025 on the 60-day IL, and threw 4 big-league innings that year. In 2026 he became a fixture: 50 games, 65.2 innings, and three starts as an opener. In 2027 he should be the lefty who covers the middle innings and the occasional bulk day.
Outlook
The changeup is the whole show. He threw it 35% of the time per Statcast, and hitters whiffed on 49.5% of their swings at it. That's how a pitcher with a 92.8 mph fastball held opponents to a .180 average and struck out 73. The weak spots are walks (33) and 9 home runs. Elbow inflammation cost him most of June, and August was rough (a 5.79 ERA), but he closed with 7.1 scoreless innings in September.
Our take: the walks keep him out of the eighth inning. He's still a useful arm, though, and the version that carried a 3.15 ERA through 65.2 innings is close to who he is.
